You use really good quality ingredients – even though you probably think it yourself oh it’s just going to take like it’s just going to taste like a cake mix well some cake mixes are delicious if, I’m honest this is one of them it’s got good ingredients nothing too complicated or crazy just perfect I also have my oven preheated to 350. I have a 9-inch springform pan buttered nicely ready to go now I’ve got my mix I’m going to add my water you can see very precise very very complicated my oil we could use to also use butter and two eggs and I’m just going to whisk this together until everything is incorporated pour your cake batter in your prepared cake pan really simple if,you don’t want to go through the trouble of making your own cake batter then by all means you can just go to your local grocery store and buy like a box of brownies.
I got regular made cake just cut it up fit it in there good to go this needs to go my preheated oven it’ll only take about 25 minutes or so to bake fully and then you want to let it cool completely and then. we’ll start layering so once my cake baked which only took about 30 minutes or so you let it cool completely.I was going to leave it for just a few hours but I figured overnight would ensure that the cake would be definitely definitely cool enough for me to top it with the ice cream because you don’t want your cake to be warm because once ice cream touches warm cake disaster right so what I have here is a vanilla bean ice cream you can make your own I have a great vanilla gelato ,vanilla ice cream.
I’ve got some dry roasted peanuts these are unsalted. I prefer it this way it doesn’t compete with any other flavors to make my little chocolate ah all you need is semi-sweet chocolate chips and a little bit of heavy cream.I’m going to pop this into the microwave for about 45 seconds to a minute until fully melted and then. I’ll come back and I can tell you your options because that’s what I do okay so this is what my chocolate sauce looks like it’s a little on the thick side which is perfect you don’t want it too runny you want to make sure it’s not super hot otherwise it’s going to melt everything now this is where the options come in you can slice this now top it with some of your pita pecans peanuts drizzle little Java sauce drizzle a little caramel boom if however.
You want your chocolate sauce and your caramel to be set you want to pop this into the freezer for a few hours.I like them to be coated by the caramel and the chocolate kind of like a regular Snickers bar right that’s how I like it and you can see that I haven’t chopped them up these are just halved that’s how I prefer it because like I said a traditional bar that’s how they come and if you love I used to be able to find them I can’t find them anymore but there used to be like a Snickers ice cream cone oh they were fabulous now I’m just resorting to having to make them myself because I can’t find them anymore but you can there’s it’s similar to that so did you just take your caramel and you kind of just drizzle all over the tap there’s no rhyme or reason no particular way to how you do this you just need caramel all over the surface as much or as little as you like then.
5You take your chocolate and you kind of do the same thing the chocolate is a little bit thicker but that’s okay look how cool I mean right I just use my whisk because it works you can use a spoon you can use whatever your heart desires what I’m what I’m doing if you notice is I’m trying not to cover up the edges too much because I want you to be able to see the vanilla ice cream I want you to see the nuts I want you to see the caramel so I’m just strategically strategically drizzling this chocolate liberally all over so that every piece has a good amount and that is gorgeous now all I need to do is very you can loosely loosely cover this with plastic wrap what I’m going to do is I’m going to take a plate place it upside down so that the plate isn’t actually touching the chocolate surface and I’m going to pop this into the freezer as is an hour will do like I said this is not going to take you three days but it’s a really fun project to do with kids as well so I need to pop this into the freezer overnight because.
I’m start to see the melting the ice cream is going to start melting so when I show you what this looks like cut up. I mean trust me it’ll be worth the wait once your cake is fully set but like I said it doesn’t have to happen overnight it’s just a lazy way out you can do this for about an hour so and it would be perfect you want to let it come to room temperature for about 10 minutes before you cut it because it can be really hard around the edges and then if you need to because of the springform pan you don’t you kind of just loosen the sides and you lift it but if you need to you can kinda just go in with a knife and then oh this is going to be dense and gorgeous I’m going to cut a piece out this is really rich and you know me I I’m not afraid to eat but I will say this much I can easily share a slice with Joe or anyone because it’s very rich you got ice cream you have chocolate cake you got caramel you’ve got chocolate you’ve got a lot going on can we just admire can we just admire.
