- Onion yellow onion
- Green onion
- Yellow corn meal
- Some self-rising flour
- Some cayenne pepper
- Garlic powder
- Hot oil
1So once all those dry ingredients are in there I am just going to whisk everything until it’s nice and lump free and now I’m going to start adding in my onions.Remember this is a green onion and yellow onions.
2If you like it a little spicy you can chop up some spicy peppers and put that in the mix as well.
3So once all of my onions are in there I’m going to start adding a couple more ingredients:- One of those ingredients will be buttermilk And now we’re going to add in one large egg.
4I’m just going to mix everything until well combined.you don’t want to over mix it just mix it until it looks like this.
5So I’m going to be using this scoop here this is like my cookie dough scoop.if you don’t have this it’s okay you can use a spoon and here on my still top I have my cast iron skillet. it is full not all the way full but as you see it has some hot oil in there.
6I’ll let the oil heat up for about 10 minutes before I started spooning out my hush puppies stuff here hush puppy stuff. oh my god.
Okay so now we are going to fry these hush puppies until they are nice and golden and you’ll know when they’re done because they will float to the top when I remove them out of my skillet our my pan same thing right. we’re going to just place it on a paper towel lined plate and then we are going to dig in once they are you know cool enough to eat.
