Hi everyone It’s Emily Lewis. Today I’m gonna share with you guys how to make black and white cookies.
- Baking powder
- Granulated sugar
- Two eggs
- Unsweetened chocolate
1We can start this off by preheating the oven to 375 degrees. And in a bowl i’m adding in four cups of flour and i’m also adding in a half a teaspoon of baking powder and i’m just going to mix this together. So now i’m adding in two sticks of butter and i’m just going to beat this until it is light and fluffy. To do this i’m going to be adding in one in three quarters of a cup of granulated sugar and once again are just going to beat this until it is light and fluffy.
2Now we can add in two eggs. We can also add in half a teaspoon of vanilla and a fourth of a teaspoon of lemon extract. We can take our dry ingredients that we mix together and we can add in a third of that into our Bowl and we can mix this together.
3Now I’m going to be taking one cup of milk and slowly adding it in a little bit at a time and then we can go back and add some more of our dry ingredients and mix it together at the way I’m just going to keep repeating the process until everything is used up and our dough is formed.
4I have a quarter of a cup it’s actually like a little measuring cup and I’m just going to use is to measure out the sides of the ball, so I’m just going to roll these into balls and we’re just going to be putting six of them on one sheet. So now that we have those i’m just going to flatten these out a little bit and then we can take these and put these into the oven and the book actually says to cook these for 20 minutes and i cook the first ones for 20 minutes.
5So i would recommend 12 to 14 minutes those ones came out really good and light and fluffy so now i can move on to the frosting and for this we’re going to need a quarter of a cup of light corn syrup and we’re also going to need a cup a third of a cup of water and i have this in a little pot we’re just going to let this simmer and once it looks like that we can take it off and to that we’re going to be adding half a teaspoon of vanilla extract and we’re also going to be adding in a total of five cups of confectioner’s sugar and mixing it together.
6So once that’s done i created a double boiler system and here i have two ounces of unsweetened chocolate and we’re just going to mix this together until it is melted. So now i’m taking three quarters of a cup of our icing mixture that we made at first and i’m just adding it into the chocolate so we can mix this together and now we have our black and white frosting so now we can take our first frosting and put this on to half of the cookie.
7And now we can take our chocolate frosting and frost the other half of the cookie and the chocolate part was definitely my favorite because anything chocolate I’m obsessed with and I think they’d used these just came out so delicious and so yummy.
