Today I’m going to make bacon-wrapped water chestnuts.
- 1 Cup Of Ketchup
- 1 Cup Of Brown Sugar
- 2 Teaspoons Of Worcester Sauce
- 2cans Of Whole Water Chestnuts
- One Pack Of Strip Bacon
- 1 Cup Measure Kitchen Scissors
1we’re gonna take your saucepan and put it on the stovetop and you’re gonna want to put your 1 cup of ketchup your 1 cup of brown sugar and 2 teaspoons forces your sauce inside and mix on a heated stovetop until the brown sugar completely dissolves while you’re continuing the rest of this recipe it’s alright to keep this on a low simmering stovetop next go ahead and pre-heat your oven to 350 degrees.
2So now we’re going to be using the water chestnuts the cutting board of the bacon and the toothpicks and also the can opener so you’re gonna want to open the two cans of water chestnuts that you have and put them off to the side make sure that you drain them of their water though otherwise they’ll be a little bit messy to work with next you’re gonna take a piece of strip bacon and place it on your cutting board and cut it into three equal pieces.
3you can get it next you’re going to take a just not and place it in the center of each of the bacon pieces you’re then going to take each side of the bacon piece and you’re going to wrap it up to the top of the water chestnut and take a toothpick and secure it in place you’re going to keep repeating this until you either run out of bacon or water chestnuts as you create them put you to these on the cooking rack inside a deep dish pan.
4Make sure that these are is evenly spaced as you can get them so they’re cooked evenly you’re gonna put these guys in the oven for 35 to 45 minutes depending on how crispy you want your bacon while you’re waiting take half of the sauce and spread it along the bottom of the second deep dish pan when they’re ready take them out of the oven with your hot pads.
5Take each and put them in the sauce as shown here you’re gonna want to get them as evenly spaced as you can to help with the cooking they will go into the oven for about 15 minutes like this once those 15 minutes are up you’re going to take them out of the oven and you’re gonna take the rest of the sauce that you have leftover and you’re gonna drizzle it over the top of each individual water chestnut be careful not to get any of the sauce on the toothpick because that makes it really sticky and hard to manage.
