Today, I’m showing you how to make Bacon Jam.
- Pound Of Thick-Cut Bacon
- Half Sliced Sweet Onion
- Skits Pancakes Waffles
- 3 Cup Of Brown Sugar
- 4 Cups Of Beef Broth
- 2 Tablespoon Of Honey
- Smoked Paprika
- Half Tablespoon Of Black Pepper
- 2 Tablespoon Of Butter
1We’re going to start by cooking some bacon here in a heavy skillet. I have a pound of thick-cut bacon that I’ve just chopped up into a little one inch two inch pieces. once the bacon has rendered down then. we’re going to add in half of a sliced sweet onion and saute this for about five minutes once the onion is soft and tender and a little bit browned we’re going to add in a third of a cup of brown sugar.
2I have four cups of beef broth here and I’m going to add it into the bacon one cup at a time and let it reduce in between it should immediately come to a simmer and then we’ll let it reduce it’s going to take about ten minutes for the liquid to reduce before you put in another cup see how the liquid has reduced and is almost thick that’s how you know it’s time just pour in more of the beef broth so I’m going to add in one more cup repeat this process until you’ve used up all four cups of beef broth.
3When it’s done it should look a little something like this I’m going to turn the heat off and transfer this all into a blender once that’s all in add in two tablespoons of honey a teaspoon of smoked paprika and then about half a teaspoon of black pepper we’re going to blend this together alright I’m going to take the lid off and finish it off with two tablespoons of butter that should melt right in and that’s it at this point you can cool it off and transfer it to an airtight container and store it in the fridge for up to two weeks just reheat it before serving bacon jam.
