German Potato Salad Recipe

I’m Going To Make An Authentic German Potato Salad.


  • 5 Potatoes
  • Red Potato
  • White Onion
  • 3 strips Of Bacon
  • 1/4 Cup Of Vinegar
  • 2 Tablespoons Of Sugar
  • Extra Flavor


1Let’s get started all you need for this recipe are five potatoes I use a red potato and I like to keep the skins on it’s a little extra nutrients one white onion calls for three strips of bacon I went with five I’m a bacon girl so you can kind of pick and choose how many slices you want 1/4 cup of vinegar and 2 tablespoons of sugar I like to add a little green onion for garnish on top adds a nice little color to the top and a little extra flavor first you want to prep all your ingredients.

2I’ll start with the bacon make sure it’s fully cooked and once it’s all cooked you can either chop the bacon or rip it into pieces I tend to just rip it because it’s fun and the next step is to chop the green onion this is just for garnish so just try to keep it out of small all the way you want to boil the potatoes and then cut them up into bite-size pieces.

3Then mince the onion I threw mine in the cuisenaire because it makes your life a heck of a lot easier now that we’re done prepping we can start making the salad and you will see how easy this is so first add your diced potatoes next you want to add the onion the bacon your vinegar and then the sugar once those are all added in you just kind of want to mix it around slip it up in any bowl you like and then garnish it on top with some green onion voila.
